Responsibilities and Work Dynamics
Lead all accounting operations—general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and month-end close—ensuring robust internal controls and accurate financial statements.
Provide timely financial data and strategic insights for leadership and board reporting. Oversee annual audits and act as liaison with auditors.
Ensure compliance with GAAP, nonprofit accounting standards, and federal grants regulations, notably Uniform Guidance requirements.
Manage multi-year government grants and contracts, including sophisticated cost allocation and indirect cost rates across numerous funding sources.
Identify and implement process improvements, partner with program heads for budget and contract performance, and support overall financial integrity.
