Job Duties and Daily Routine
The second chef role is dynamic and hands-on, overseeing food preparation, managing a team of chefs and cooks, and demonstrating new cooking techniques. Each day, you’ll supervise staff and ensure meals meet quality standards, participate in menu planning, and consult with clients for special events and banquets.
Much of your time will be spent preparing complete meals, innovating recipes, and instructing your team on best practices for preparation, presentation, and garnishing. Additional tasks include requisitioning kitchen supplies and hiring or training new kitchen staff to keep standards high.
