Driver
Full-time HGV driver role. Excellent €150 a day pay, €30 tax-free allowance, modern vehicles. 5-day week, rare weekends. Ideal for experienced drivers valuing stability.
Your Day-to-Day as a Driver
This driving job focuses on solo food waste collections from commercial clients with a modern HGV. Each day, you’ll use GPS to stick to a set list of stops.
Tasks include vehicle checks, logging your routes, and communicating clearly with the operations team. The role does not include working with a crew, so you enjoy autonomy.
Expect a Monday to Friday schedule, averaging 40-45 hours weekly, with occasional Saturdays or public holidays possible. Early morning starts are common in this position.
You are responsible for keeping your truck clean and following all safety and driving time regulations. Training and safety briefings are provided regularly.
The position is full-time, and the use of efficient planning tools makes daily operations streamlined for the driver.
Pros: What Makes This Job Stand Out
The daily rate of €150 is competitive, especially with the added €30 subsistence allowance, which is tax-free. Payments are consistent for stable budgeting.
The Monday to Friday routine allows for predictability and good work-life balance, with only occasional requirements for weekends or public holidays.
Cons: Points to Consider
Work can involve early starts and some flexibility, particularly if weekend or holiday shifts are required, which may not suit everyone.
While you’ll work independently, some may find the solo nature of the route repetitive over time. There’s also significant responsibility in vehicle upkeep and time management.
Verdict: Is This the Right Move For You?
This role is appealing for experienced drivers seeking steady pay, solid benefits, and predictable scheduling. If you value workplace autonomy and sustainability, this could be a solid fit. Flexibility is key to thrive here, but strong applicants can enjoy the balance between professional independence and rewarding compensation.
