This Virtual Event Coordinator role offers applicants a $28 to $30 hourly pay rate for a temporary, remote project scheduled to last approximately two months. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree, and will benefit from steady daytime hours (8 AM – 4 PM) while contributing to a well-regarded nonprofit organization. The position is part-time and offers the valuable chance to impact civic engagement and voter education efforts.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

As a Virtual Event Coordinator, your main duties will consist of facilitating and supporting over 30 scheduled online events before the nonprofit’s biannual convention. You’ll manage Zoom Webinar functions such as sharing screens, moderating waiting rooms, and dropping helpful links for participants. The job also includes helping speakers with rehearsal and troubleshooting, editing Zoom recordings, and maintaining attendance reports via Excel.

You will provide technical support to participants, often assisting an older demographic with basic troubleshooting and navigation issues, so patience and good communication are essential. Close collaboration with the project management team is part of the job, using Microsoft Teams for internal coordination.

Pros

This temporary remote opportunity allows you to work with a meaningful organization and develop your event coordination skills. The pay is competitive for remote work, and you’ll gain valuable experience in a very hands-on, impactful way. The absence of a location requirement means you enjoy flexibility and autonomy in your work routine.

Cons

As a short-term temporary role, job security is limited, and there is no guarantee of future employment after the project concludes. The window for joining is also brief, which may add pressure to the application process. Finally, the project’s deadline-driven nature and the need to navigate technical challenges with inexperienced users could become stressful at times.

Verdict

If you are seeking a short-term, well-compensated remote opportunity and enjoy event or technical coordination, this job could be a great fit. While it doesn’t offer long-term stability, it provides excellent experience, professional growth, and a chance to contribute to a meaningful cause in a flexible setting.
