Day-to-Day Responsibilities
The position of Coordinator, Payroll & Benefits involves overseeing the full payroll cycle, including payroll processing, deductions, and benefit enrolment. The role is integral to ensuring accurate pay, compliance with regulations, and handling sensitive employee data with confidentiality. You will be expected to maintain and improve processes, reconcile payroll to accounts, and produce regular reporting to support HR and finance teams.
Additional responsibilities include acting as a point of contact for complex payroll inquiries, preparing year-end filings and remittances, and optimizing HRIS system integrations. This role also supports compensation reviews, benefits renewals, and assists with HR communications and change management initiatives.
You will directly support both staff and management, delivering exceptional internal service and collaborating on payroll-related projects. A critical part of your role will be staying informed on legislative changes and responding quickly to ensure continued compliance.
Attention to detail, analytical skills and an ability to handle competing deadlines are essential. You will also have opportunities to assist in the annual staffing budget process and employee training sessions.
